Aspic Festival 6-8th February
Miskolc offers a unique gastronomic experience during the Jelly Festival
Between 6 and 8 February, the Miskolc Jelly Festival welcomes visitors with free programmes and nearly 100 concerts. This year, in addition to the city centre locations, the festival also involves local restaurants, expanding the festival experience. Alongside the traditional street food offer, visitors can encounter restaurant tastings as well, turning Miskolc into a walkable gastronomic map for the duration of the festival.
The festival starts on Friday afternoon with a carnival-style opening. The spectacular parade moving through the city centre features hundreds of costumed participants dressed as frogs, stilt walkers and various carnival characters, launching the three-day programme of events.

The Jelly Festival has been one of Hungary’s largest winter city events for decades. This year, nearly 100 concerts await visitors at two main stages and three additional venues in downtown Miskolc, alongside all-day programmes, a festive market atmosphere and a wide selection of food and drinks. The music programme features several genres of popular music, with performers including Wellhello, Kowalsky meg a Vega, Hooligans, Bikini, Balkan Fanatik, and Charlie, all taking the stage in the city of the Bükk Mountains.
New feature: Jelly Passport and city jelly map
One of the most important new features of this year’s festival is that Miskolc’s iconic jelly dish appears not only at street vendors, but also in many of the city’s restaurants. The hospitality venues prepare their own interpretations of the dish, meaning that alongside the classic Miskolc jelly, modern, reimagined and experimental versions also appear on menus.
Visitors can taste special creations such as ginger-flavoured, salmon, or even vegan jelly, meaning the festival’s gastronomic offer also provides an experience for those who do not consume meat. Restaurant tastings are supported by the Jelly Passport, which allows guests to collect stamps after each jelly they taste and even win a full weekend stay.
The current list of restaurants serving unique jelly dishes is available at kocsonyautlevel.hu.
The Jelly Festival has by now become a city experience that encourages longer stays. During the festival, Miskolc and its surroundings offer numerous leisure opportunities: the winter natural attractions of Lillafüred, hiking routes in the Bükk Mountains, the Ellipsum Adventure Bath in Miskolctapolca, and the cultural programmes of the city centre together complete the Miskolc city visit.
