Metallurgical Museum

The mission of the Museum of Metallurgy in Miskolc-Felsőhámor is to present the legacy of iron culture to the wider audience. The permanent exhibition of the museum that is located in the listed baroque building unveils the mystery of producing and manufacturing iron, and the miniatures and the functioning models ensure visitors’ experience.

A new and interactive exhibition invites visitors for a time travel back to the Age of Foundation, where they can “make” raw iron (“bucavas”) just as the then smiths did. Several colourful museum educational programmes are offered to pupils and students. The engineering museum of the longest history in the region awaits visitors of every generation.
